Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup plant-based milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch diluted in 2 tbsp water
  • Steamed broccoli and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Dip each cauliflower floret into the plant-based milk, then coat with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot over medium-high heat. Fry the cauliflower in batches until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  4. In a separate saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. Toss the crispy cauliflower in the sauce until well coated.
  7. Serve the General Tso's cauliflower over steamed broccoli and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
