  • 1/4 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, plus more for glazing
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 6 slices of thick-cut, sturdy bread (like sourdough or Texas toast)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
  • Sliced strawberries for serving (optional)
  • Non-dairy butter or oil for cooking
