Fudgy Vegan Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips
  • Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, melted vegan butter, applesauce, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Fold in the vegan chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. Do not overbake.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the baking dish for at least 10 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired.
  7. Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
