Fudgy Vegan Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegan butter, melted
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips
- Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease an 8x8 inch baking dish and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, melted vegan butter, applesauce, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Fold in the vegan chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft. Do not overbake.
- Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the baking dish for at least 10 minutes. Sprinkle with sea salt, if desired.
- Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!
