Classic Vegan Burger
Ingredients:
- 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup cooked quinoa
- 1/4 cup diced onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, pickles, and vegan cheese for toppings
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher.
- Add in the cooked quinoa, diced onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
- Heat a grill or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until crispy and cooked through.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, then adding lettuce, tomato, pickles, and vegan cheese. Top with the remaining bun.
- Serve the classic vegan burgers with your favorite side dish and enjoy!
